Rubber Stamp Making

MAKING RUBBER STAMPS for profit and fun.

Now let us explain to you in greater detail the simple process by which you can produce these MONEY MAKING STAMPS. To make this easily understood we have avoided "in words".

1. Make a negative from your artwork. Simple procedure exposing the artwork to a photo sensitive sheet in your POLYDIAM Platemaker, for a short time span.

2. In the POLYDIAM Platemaker you will find two pieces of glass with clamps at both ends. Separate them and place the negative flat on the bottom piece, and around it lay an adhesive edging. Then place a cover film flat over the area , rubbing down to remove all air bubbles.

3. Around the negative, place foam strips to form a complete outer border to the image. Then pour as much resin as required to form a pool filling the frame. Air bubbles must be removed and your POLYDIAM Stamp Platemaker has an air blower to do this.

4. Then place another sheet, which is adhesive, over the top of the foam strip frame and resin.

5. Place the remaining glass over the top and screw up the clamps. Then turn it over and place on the rests in the platemaker. Set exposure time and switch on the timer. This first exposure forms the base. Then once completed , turn over the glass again and expose that side. These simple steps transfer the image to the polymer resin. Remove it. Undo the clamps. Take off the other materials leaving the stamp plate on it's own. The exposed resin will be hardened.

6. Washing of the stamp plate in water and washout developer will remove all residue of the unexposed resin, leaving a clear sheet with the image in relief. Then place the plate into the Drawer Tray of the POLYDIAM Platemaker, covered with water. Expose again. This final step will toughen the material for durability.

7. Finally remove the plate. Dry it thoroughly (A Hairdryer is useful). Cut the polymer stamp to size, or sizes, and mount.
